Processes of Creation
and Rendering of the Sketch
The
map sheet was the scratching out of placement and perspective plotting.
The finished rough sketch was
then transferred to cold press illustration board. Then the pale pencil
lines were traced to have a sharp pen line to follow with the other media.
A watercolor laying in of color
came next. This set up the soft areas of color like the sky, roof, and
landscaping. It also formed the underlay for other areas that would be
layered with other media (colored pencils, markers, and ink). The wood
and rock were some of the areas that would receive layers of color and
detailing. At this point, the rocks look like pok-a-dots. Scroll down for
a sneak peek at the finished rock areas.
